Active and Passive Control of a Dual Rotor Wind Turbine Generator for DC Grids

This paper proposes a vector and linear control strategy for wind turbines connecting to DC collector grid. Two conversion schemes are considered the turbine, (i) an active scheme where dual rotor generator (DRG) is connected voltage source converter (VSC), (ii) passive DRG uncontrolled rectifier. The controller implemented on VSC turbine speed output power controlled via VSC, (WTG) rectified filed current. A load-angle analytical modeling discussed evaluated simulation results. In replaced with rectifier entirely shifted that controls speed, voltage. comparison of presented, results verify effectiveness in steady-state when transitions between different velocities.
